The Heroes of Eastport

The Heroes of Eastport is a prominent adventuring party and theatrical music band formed on the island of Farmarch in the summer of 1487 DR. Originally a disparate group of travelers who survived the crash of the luxury airship The Kestrel, the band was commissioned by local authorities to resolve several municipal crises, eventually receiving official heroic status, commemorative t-shirts, and local legendary acclaim.

Formation and Core Membership

The party's members represent a diverse range of origins, skills, and eccentric behaviours:

• Brogmar Mossbeard (Druid): Formerly the Marterus merchant Harry Dennison, now a wild-looking druid and spiritual leader of the group.
• Elion Ashhar-Rah'oul (Ranger): A quiet and brooding human ranger who operates from the shadows.
• Skaf from Yonder (Warlock): A pompous and flamboyant half-elf performer with high-collared robes.
• Panda (Sean Gardner) (Cleric): A stalwart dwarf cleric who serves as the group's moral and spiritual anchor.
• Muffin (Jake Marshall) (Warrior): A gentle goliath warrior who believes he is a dwarf and Panda's brother. Muffin retired from adventuring during the party's stay in Marterus, settling in the city with his partner Kaia to open a woodworking shop, The Knotty Carver. Muffin's Farewell took place before the journey to Greygate.
• Zolik Longfoot (Rogue): A skittish Harengon rogue who is exceptionally quick on his feet.

Major Campaigns

The Eastport Docks Operation

Under the direction of Mayor Duncan Wells, the group investigated the damp dockside warehouses of Eastport. They successfully dismantled a major drug smuggling ring, capturing stockpiles of the highly addictive substance Voidbloom.

The Lighthouse Cephalopod Rescue

The group investigated a series of sleepwalking trances among Eastport fishermen. They scaled the local lighthouse and saved the keeper, Maynard Krensch, by removing a giant, mind-controlling octopus parasite from his head.

The Great Vegetable Curse

During a celebratory feast, the entire populace of Eastport was cursed and transformed into sentient vegetation. The group tracked the blight to Margeth's cottage, but she escaped. Their pursuit took them to Brae; they finally killed her during an attack after returning to Eastport.

Brae and Tel'Amyr

In Brae, the group rescued villagers taken in the Gorsuine Raid, exposed Ethor Kelanna's experiments and killed him with the Cownado. Skaf bound Kelanna as an undead servant. The group also explored the Tomb of Tel'Amyr and adopted Klep, a young mimic.

The Fen Expedition

At the commission of King Edor Bren, the party travelled through Greygate and the Fen to examine an unknown temple. They killed an Ancient Gully-maw, explored the Temple in the Fen and defeated the Shadow Harlequin. The expedition also led them into the Fey, where Brogmar Mossbeard found his father Urgin Dennison alive near Eilor.

The Ulfhold Impostor

On returning to Marterus, the party reported its success to the figure occupying King Edor's throne. The figure and several guards transformed into abominations and attacked. The Heroes killed them, informed Captain Stephen Reynaud of the substitution and left the real king's fate as one of the city's more immediate unresolved questions.

Cultural Impact

Following the first confrontation with Margeth, the group returned to Eastport and gave its first musical performance at The Spotless Apple inn, becoming known as the Heroes of Eastport before the witch's eventual death. Commemorative t-shirts were printed featuring their portraits, which remain sought-after local collector's items [citation needed].

After returning from the Fen, the party accompanied Brogmar to the Cloudcombe, where Lithen was found dead and the creature identified as Jolene was banished by Skaf. The companions helped bury Lithen north of Marterus during Lithen's Funeral and offered condolences before Brogmar addressed the gathered crowd.
