The Cownado was a magically produced storm of falling cattle that ended the confrontation between the Heroes of Eastport and the necromancer Ethor Kelanna beneath Brae in 1487 DR. It is the only recorded weather event to have both a caster and livestock manifest [citation needed].

The Fall of Ethor Kelanna
After exposing Kelanna's role in the Gorsuine raid, the Heroes pursued him through the trapped tunnels beneath his shop and found his flesh-golem experiments. Kelanna fought with lashing black tentacles of shadow until Brogmar Mossbeard called down the Cownado. The falling cattle broke the wizard's concentration and killed him, ending his experiments. Skaf from Yonder subsequently bound Kelanna as an undead servant.
The condition and ownership of the cattle after impact were not entered into the official record.
