The Temple in the Fen is an otherwise unnamed ruin south of Greygate whose discovery prompted King Edor Bren to commission an expedition by the Heroes of Eastport. Its magic disrupted the airships sent to survey it, although initial royal reports claimed there was no evidence of magic or strange creatures. Both findings have remained in the report [citation needed].
The temple stands in a broad clearing where the Fen's dead forest recedes from view. Black obsidian roots cover its exterior. The Heroes camped at the forest edge before entering and descending into an underground complex of natural caverns, worked chambers, traps and cages.
Magic within the ruin teleported Panda and Skaf from Yonder away from the others, followed later by Brogmar Mossbeard. Panda was imprisoned in a hanging cage until Brogmar, transformed into a giant eagle, broke him free. Elion Ashhar-Rah'oul cut through a flesh-covered door while searching for the group, and Skaf escaped a moss-covered beast before finding a chamber of vats.
The party reunited before enormous doors carved with faces. Each member fed blood into one of the carved mouths to open them and entered a chamber of magical darkness, where they fought and slew the Shadow Harlequin.
After the battle, the upper reaches of the ruin opened into the Fey, where the party encountered Urgin Dennison near the town of Eilor. They returned to Marterus by means of Skaf's teleportation spell. The full extent and original purpose of the temple remain unknown.
