Edor Bren is the missing King of Marterus. He ruled from Ulfhold within the city's fortified Stone Circle until an unknown creature replaced him. The replacement was killed after the Fen expedition. The real king's location and condition are unknown, and he is presumed dead.

Reign
King Edor ruled the merchant city of Marterus and its surrounding lands, whose roads are patrolled by the wolfguard. His court received petitioners in a grand audience chamber in Ulfhold, where the royal figure was noted for welcoming visitors warmly but with caution, a diplomatic posture his advisors described as "both" [citation needed].
The Temple Commission
When royal scouts and airships reported the discovery of a temple of unknown origin — whose magic interfered with the airships sent to survey it — the king circulated flyers seeking adventurers to explore it. One such flyer, posted as far away as Port Starvryn, secured the druid Brogmar Mossbeard passage aboard the airship The Kestrel, indirectly assembling the party that would become the Heroes of Eastport.
Audience with the Heroes (1487 DR)
The figure presented as Edor received the Heroes of Eastport at Ulfhold in the winter of 1487 DR. The audience is notable for its exchanges: the apparent king offered caution and a promise to seek experts on the Crooked Man, while the party offered a handcrafted leaf sculpture and a demand for payment up front. It is not known whether the real Edor had already been replaced.
Later Events
Following an incident at the Scales of Garten, the apparent king learned that Brogmar Mossbeard was the missing merchant heir Harry Dennison and undertook to protect the druid's mother and sister. The promise ended before the party returned, when both women left Ulfhold for their home.
Exposure of the Replacement
When the Heroes returned from the Temple in the Fen and reported success, the apparent king flew into a rage, changed into a hideous abomination and attacked alongside several similarly disguised guards. The Heroes killed the replacement and its minions. Captain Stephen Reynaud accepted the account with support from two surviving guards, but no evidence established the real king's fate.
The Shadow Harlequin encountered beneath the temple had earlier displayed Edor's face on one of its stalks. Whether this depicted the king, the replacement or a connection between them remains unknown.
