The Fen, also recorded as the Fenn, is a warm, mist-drowned swamp south of Greygate in Felldrei. Its dead trees, deep mud and sparse patrols have given it a reputation as a land believed to be evil, an assessment supported by the local wildlife and its architecture.
Travellers enter through the long tunnel beneath Greygate. The cold of the wall gives way abruptly at its southern door to warm water, heavy humidity and difficult ground. The party found a magical tree that provided respite, healing and silver leaves. They also camped in what the chronicle calls a magical bowl, whose relationship to the tree is not specified.
The Heroes of Eastport crossed the Fen while carrying out King Edor Bren's commission to examine an unknown temple. They followed lights to an Ancient Gully-maw, fought a mist creature that abruptly dissipated, and found bodies beside the road before reaching the Temple in the Fen. The expedition confirmed that the region's reputation had, if anything, been restrained.
